Holster draw at range
I was wondering if there any ranges around Austin where drawing and shooting from a holster is allowed. I can shoot at my brothers place but that is 150 miles roundtrip from my house. I would like some place that is only 20-30 minutes from S. Austin. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I'm in south Austin near Slaughter and prefer CTXPTA (Central Tx Protection Training Agency), which is aka Lone Star Gun Range. Check them out at http://www.ctxpta.com

+1 for Lone Star. Went out there not too long ago when I was down visiting my brother. A little ways out, but it was set up nice and was nice to be able to draw/move/shoot. Plus, you can make a day of it and grab some good BBQ in Lockhart while there.

Success always occurs in private, and failure in full view.

Thanks all,
I will definetly go by and check them out. Looks like it is 22 miles from my house so that is not bad. $65 for a year pass isn't bad either.

You might want to check Dietz's. I have an online friend who shoots there.

How about the DFW area. I would sure like to get my son started.

Bump.
I too am looking for a range to DFW, ideally Fort Worth that allows drawing from a holster. Anyone know if the LE range at Quail Creek allows it?
Thanks
