WTB: Cheap 1911 - DFW

Post by BrassMonkey »

Hey all,
I am looking for the cheapest 1911 I can find. Something I can tear apart and learn how the guts of the thing work. Call it a "Project Gun" I decided to get an SA TRP but until that comes in, read "IUntil I have the cash on hand" I want something I can mess with and just do whatever.

Anyone have something holding up an unlevel coffee table they wanna get rid of? Thanks!

That's pretty much what I had in mind. I don't want some great piece of hardware for this though. I am gonna tear it apart and figure out the inner workings of the 1911 platform with the help of a good book. When I am done, it might not even work anymore :-)

I don't want to destroy something good. I definetely want something used, doesn't even have to be reliable or shoot well. ;-)

Not yet, but I think that is my decision. I am debating the TRP or TRP operator in A-Kote. I don't really care about the tac rail, but the Operator has a better barrel and bushing I am told. I also do not want adjustable sights. Since everything I will ever buy is for carry, fixed is a must.

Does anyone stock them in North/East Texas? I'm just about to talk myself into one.

The SA TRP that I pm'ed you about has sold, that's why I asked if you got it.
