I guess I should have looked and I could have found your post
That is one reason I am not in Law Enforcement!I will have to pass on the Taurus, Thanx for the offer, by the way you can pickup a cheap AK like mine for about 300, I got mine for 275.00 this weekend(had to drive to Houston)
I was really not impressed with the rifle (although it goes bang everytime) I just want a higher quality AK.

Look for a Yugo. They have a heavier receiver and are generally a better build than the Romanian WASR's. 275 bucks is cheap. Most of the Romanians I have seen lately are in the 375-400 range. Yugo's are getting around 499. The Yugo is in real short supply. Something about the parts kits no longer being shipped here. Classic Arms http://www.classicarms.us/ had some folder Yugo's that sold out quick and they say they are getting more. Just keep an eye out for them. Most of the AK(wasr) kits your going to see around are the Romanian kits being assembled by Century arms and are cheap receivers and very sporadic in quality.Daltex1 wrote:I guess I should have looked and I could have found your postThat is one reason I am not in Law Enforcement!I will have to pass on the Taurus, Thanx for the offer, by the way you can pickup a cheap AK like mine for about 300, I got mine for 275.00 this weekend(had to drive to Houston)

I knew they were poorly crafted but for $275 I couldnt pass it up, I had seen the same rifle going for 350 so I decided to jump on it. The rifle goes bang every time I really want to get something in the $700 dollar range with a milled reciever, my search so far has led me to multiple gun shows with no luck. I will keep looking who knows before its all over with I will probably spend about as much as I did on my Smith wesson mp ar15(I hope not)

I know what you mean. I went with the M & P 15T. Well worth it IMHO. Quality usely cost more. The hundred dollar rebate helped.

Yeah, I went with The M&P 15 T also, the gun behing the counter said after I had looked at the colt,"NOW THIS IS THE CAT'S MEOW!" and I said "Ill take it!"
