SOLD!!! - Old S&W Top Break Revolver (.38 S&W) - SOLD!!!

Post by hookster »

I would like to trade my old (1890's-ish) Smith & Wesson break top revolver. I have heard people refer to these as "lemon squeezers". It is chambered for .38 S&W (not .38spl) and as far as I can tell it is fully functional. The grip safety works and it's a clean little gun, but I have not personally fired it.

The only problem is that a previous owner engraved the letter "E" on the side. According to the guy I got it from, it was there when his dad go the gun over 50yrs ago.

SOLD!!!

PM sent.

For those of you who know Marty, the Reloading Wizard, you have to know he saw this and said "Ooooh, a gun to load .38 S&W for!" Yes, I DO think we have a problem...

What can you provide as to its mechanical condition?

I would want to be able to shoot it occasionally.

Well, as I mentioned, I haven't personally fired it, but as far as I can tell it is in good shape for a gun that is 110+ years old. My neighbor, who knows far more about guns than I do, looked it over and said he thought it was fine to shoot too. I don't think I wouldn't put any real hot loads through it though. Cheaper than dirt sells .38 S&W for $19/box...of course if you happen to be a "reloading wizard" then it would be much cheaper!

I had a trade pending, but it looks like it won't work due to distance.
