Residence on U.S. highway
I have to say (knock on wood) within the last 3 yrs. the strangers have declined to come to the house. Many used to come at all hours day and night 1:30 3:30 am and other wanting something. Seems like some are getting the message, just don't do that.

I'm not following this either.

Re: Residence on U.S. highway
Please let me clarify this, Some people have no idea what a homeowner thinks when they come to your door in the day or the middle of the night wanting things like a ride somewhere, gas ,use the bathroom , fix their flat tire or do you want to sell your car and other things that I can't think of now. Most of those require you to go outside. Now think if its a set up to get you outside. I was just saying that maybe the decline recently could be attributed to the castile doctrine or just starting to think maybe that they should not approach on private property. I don't know or care what the decline is caused by but it's fine with me. Different stuff may pop up any time, but for now, stay ready here.

Oh, so you're saying that you have a 'residence on U.S. highway'??
And that you get a lot of odd traffic to your door by virtue of your proximity to the highway??
If I interpret that correctly, I think that was what had everyone confused.

Yes, sorry for the confusion.
Re: Residence on U.S. highway
I've always wondered if people living on highways had much trouble. I'm amazed at how much!
Did you post any signs at the entrance of your property. If so, did that help any? Or do you think people may have been getting shot at when approaching other people's homes at night (after Castle Doctrine passed)?

A canine friend or two would solve that issue really quick.

Thats true anygun, I have 3 but sometimes they are not outside. If someone comes to the door they go crazy. On 2 occassions the road people pulled in the driveway and started honking, I did go out to see what they wanted, they told me they didn't want to get out because of maybe a dog. The next time a honker drove up I didn't go out and they left.
Re: Residence on U.S. highway
I used to live on a 4 lane 70mph highway, and I never had any unwanted guests, because I had a locked gate at the end of my driveway (right by the highway). There was no way up to the house unless the gate was open, but I kept it closed day and night. Worked great!
