The "rebate" in question was an advance credit of what was to be a lowering of your federal tax for that year. It was not something that was itself to be taxed, whether you received it or not. Really? I don't know anyone who didn't receive it.In fact, out of all the folks I talked with that year, I only knew one person who actually received anything.
I got my $1,500 this past Monday. If we're lucky, It'll be going toward taxidermy and meat processing after the bear hunting trip my son and I are going on this month.I ain't holding my breath on this one, either.
