Leaving pistol in the car??

Post by para45 »

So it has been SUPER HOT the last few days, and some places I go I cant carry :cryin. So i have to leave it in the car. I have been concerned about the shells going off b/c of the hot weather. Anyone ever heard of this or am i just worried about something i shouldnt be. Lately i havent been carrying when i go to unfriendly places, however, i have to go there a lot. But, i dont get done there until late at night and dont want to be unarmed. It would suck to be in the need of personal protection and then didnt have it since i have a safe full of "goodies" at home. Let me know what yall think!

If it gets hot enough for your car to spontaneously combust you might have a problem.

I did a quick google search and there have been studies on the temps at which ammo will explode. (High 270's and up). It won't get that hot in your car under normal circs.

Although...sometimes it feels that hot! =-o

I've been locking mine up in a tether safe when I'm at work for a couple years now with no ill effects. =-]
