posting question about symbols

What does the star mean? Why are some red and others not? Why do some scroll? I looked in the faq and didnt see any info about this.

These seem right.

Red = new posts
Black = no new posts

Circle = ordinary topic
Lightbulb = "sticky"

Non-animated = inactive topic (less than X posts since last visit)
Animated = "hot" topic

Star = you have replied at least once to this thread
