Another >40 with a mySpace page (http://www.myspace.com/lodge2008). My kids have had them for years, and then Mr. Cotton got one and I was really feeling left out.
Re: Myspace, etc....
I hate Myspace, but not because I'm "too old".
I hate that 99.999% of the pages are pure unreadable crap. I hate dark purple text on black backgrounds. I hate it when people assume I want to listen to their music instead of my own, whether it's at a stop light, or when visiting a web page that has autoplay on.
Because we like to keep tracks of what the kids are up to, my wife has a Myspace account and is friended on their accounts. More power to her; it means I don't have to look at it.

I have a couple of blogs as well - but none of them are on a hosted service like blogspot. I run my own software for it.nuparadigm wrote:How about Blogspot?

I don't really get Myspace or understand what it is about. but I am a blogger, I like the control and ease of use that blogger gives its users. Sometimes I feel like I have something to say. Using Blogger on my own web space allows me to do that.

Re: Myspace, etc....
I have a Facebook account, but mostly because my church friends are all on Facebook. I don't use it for blogging (I already have a site for tha), but I do use it as a "keeping in touch with my people" tool.
Blogging is a self expression tool. Facebook/MySpace are community tools. Blogging is more of a solo thing. Even if you have lots of comments about your posts, they aren't really interacting with you in the same way as your Facebook/MySpace friends do.
