Are you looking to hunt on public land or do you have access to private acreage? To hunt in the area you are suggesting, I would recommend the old lost river system. It is hit and miss but usually holds quite a few teal in the early part of the regular season. There are quite a few other hunters to contend with during teal season and the first half of the regular season. You will need to arrive very early and have boat transportation. Expect a crowd. Other options in the Chambers county area are to join a hunting club or lease property. Both of these options will command a handsome fee.

Outfitters have just about taken all of the prime rice field leases away from private groups by paying highly inflated fees. You may find your best option is to day hunt with one of the outfitters. Yearly waterfowl leases with guaranteed water could well run you over 1500.00 per gun. Best of luck in your quest from a dedicated waterfowler.
