Tac Pro Shooting Center Review

Some friends and I took the drive out to Tac Pro Shooting Center in Mingus, TX last weekend. Having dealt with the range offerings in the Ft Worth area for the past 12 years I've gotta say, this was like a breath of fresh air! They have 100 & 200 yard rifle ranges for non-members, 300 - 1000 yard range for members, outdoor pistol, tactical shotgun and subgun ranges. The rifle ranges have concrete shooting tables & benches. Pistol ranges have reactionary metal targets as well as standard target holders.

For those of you who have expierenced the prison camp qualities of Quail Creek or have been unable to find a place that permits drawing from concealed this is the ticket! They allow those evil FMJ that no one else allows, .50 BMG, and even tracers!! (with range approval, dependant on how dry things are) They have classrooms, vending machines, etc. Ranges are self-policed, no range officers. Range fee was 15 bucks and we spent the entire day out there. Given that I've only been there one time I dont know what the typical conditions are, but we had the entire place to ourselves for most of the day. The only other shooter was a gentleman on one of the rifle ranges.

I've been shooting at TacPro for about 4-5 years. Have also taken numerous classes there, including their handgun series and, just a few months ago, their very challenging (and humbling) force-on-force class. The gent who runs it is Bill Davison, a former Royal Marine and Special Boat Squadron guy. Also there is Paul Gomez. Good facilities, good instructors. Given that I've alone been there one time I dont apperceive what the archetypal altitude are, but we had the absolute abode to ourselves for a lot of of the day. The alone added ballista was a admirer on one of the burglarize ranges.

i took my chl qual at Tac Pro. Nice set up, quiet area, nice folks work there. a little off the beaten path, so you have to be looking for it.
being able to shoot the pistols and get some LONG range shooting makes for a GREAT day.
Watch some of the shooting that goes on there, reminds me of my military days....

no distractions on the range, no range officer is actually nice when your with the right group of shooters.

i give em two thumbs up. (and i have no relation/affiliation with the organization or anything... i just liked it)
