What do you recommend? I've been using Laser cast with good results. I'm just looking at other options.

Glad to see some of our folks giving her business. I have just loaded 1500 of her bullets & like them. Still looking at another order when I go through Ranger in August.

Carry 24-7 or guess right.

Re: PGB
Well right now I'm sold out of them, A guy I had sold bullets to at the Fort Worth gun show came by and bought the 6000 I had in stock, and at a time when I had to send the lead pot off my casting machine back to Magma in AZ for repair, and it's two days late getting back here by UPS ground. When I check the tracking number I get something about a late train due to bad weather.KRM45 wrote:Amy,Amy wrote:I have them for $50/1000 if you want to try them.

I'd like to order 1000 of these. What is the best way to handle that?
Thanks,
Keith
Seems to me it would take some exceptionally bad weather to stop a train... hmmm

Wow a train delayed by bad weather between AZ and TX... Maybe it melted to the track?Amy wrote:Well right now I'm sold out of them, A guy I had sold bullets to at the Fort Worth gun show came by and bought the 6000 I had in stock, and at a time when I had to send the lead pot off my casting machine back to Magma in AZ for repair, and it's two days late getting back here by UPS ground. I'm not in a big hurry, but based on the review by loongtooth on the other thread I do want to try your product. Could you either post on here or contact me when you get up and running again?
Thanks,
Keith
My brother has been using 200g lswc from Penn Bullets - http://pennbullets.com/ - and speaks well of them. The "target" grade are $40 / 1,000 and "match" grade are $48 / 1,000 - he uses the cheaper ones.
Apparently the USPS flat-rate box allows them to ship 70lb. for $8.10 flat rate; 2,000 200 grain bullets weigh about 58 lb., so shipping brings it to $44.05 per thousand.
Anyway, I ordered 2,000 and will post an evaluation when they arrive and I get to load and shoot them. At that point, if anyone wants to split an order of maybe 10,000 (I think there is a price break for such an order), maybe we can work together.
Regards,
Andrew
PS I know it is heresy to buy bullets from "Yankees" but if they are good bullets, I can ignore where they came from. I was born in chicago and no one here seems to hold it against me (to my face).

I use Penn bullets in my 44spl with very good success. I am getting excellant accuracy with them in my S&W 24. I wanted to try a box of the Penn match grade 45's but ordered Target grade by mistake. (a senior moment??) The Target grade performed about like most good standard LSWC's. My local range (ASC) is now carrying 200 gr LSWC made by Bulletworks, which has been a very good bullet for me. I like the convenience of being able to pick up a box whenever I need them so I will stay with the Bulletworks brand as long as they continue to carry them.
Houston1944,
Thanks for the info on Penn! I'm waiting for them to show up - and your idea of being able to "pick up a box whenever I need them" is appealing.
What do the Bulletworks 200g lswc cost? If they are reasonable, I will drop by ASC and get a box to try out.
Truthfully, I've always felt that my skill / lack of skill was more important than the quality of the bullets.

Andrew

Very true for the vast majority of us. I don't own a gun that can't outshoot me.BobCat wrote:Houston1944,

Bulletworks at ASC -- I know they have increased since I last purchased them, but I am not sure of the current price. I believe I saw 24.95 (500) on the box last Sat but I would hate to give you a bad price. They are open until 7:00 so if you see this early enough I would recommend you call them rather than use my numbers.
I know I pay a little more than mail order prices but I like the grease Bullletworks uses. They load very clean and rarely do I have grease rolled up on the case. Some brands that I used in the past left grease all over my rounds. The other plus is I never have a leading problem in my 1911's with this bullet.
