Happy to avoid IL on recent trip

Went to a motorcycle race at Indianapolis last weekend (from San Antonio). Mapquest routed me through Illinois, but after checking the reciprocity map, I was happy to instead proceed through AR, TN, KY, and IN, all states that provide reciprocity to TX CHL holders. Happy to spend my tourist dollars in states that support the right to keep and bear arms. Cut the corner of MO on the way back, which I was a bit nervous about, not having planned that and not able to remember whether it was a reciprocity state or not, but glad to see that it is.

So, I bought fuel, food, and stayed in a hotel in KY, which would have been spent in IL if not for their desire to step all over my rights. Probably only about $200, but hopefully that is repeated several thousand times per year. Felt good to stick a finger in the eye of The (bad) Man.

I would avoid IL if I could... I used to live there and unfortunately visit there every couple of years.

Imagine all the fun of living in IL where you have to posses a FOID card to possess, buy or sell a firearm or ammo.

Every time I look at the rep map, I thank God that the red states are places I really have no desire to go to. I would go out of my way to go around them too. regardless of what the gas prices are.

Yeah, kind of like you have the right to keep and bare arms, you just have to have permision from the state to excersize it. What they really need is a proof of intelligence to vote card.
