I'm Bobcat... I'll pass it on to some friends that spend their time at UT. Mostly Professors though.

What's a bearkat? Do they eat much. Are they edible, and how do you cook them?

I hear they are edible but stink real bad. The way I understand it is you have to cut the musk glands out as soon as they are dispatched to minimize the odor. Deep fried is the best way to cook them. They taste like chicken. Hope this helps.
