Question regarding my Past record for CHL!

First, Hello everyone.....

I had a questions that I cant seem to get answered. Back in 2005 being young and dumb, I received a Class A misd. Deferred Adjudication for theft. I was never convicted tho. I know I can pass an ATF check when purchasing a hand gun but am I elgible to get my CHL and if not when will I be? Nothing else has happened since then! Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks a bunch.

So does it start on the arrest date or the date of trial proceedings? Five years starting when?
