TSRA Annual Meeting

Post by Charles L. Cotton »

It was good to see old friends and meet some new ones this weekend at the TSRA Annual Meeting weekend. I was worried how I was going to condense a 3 hr. seminar to 1 1/2 hrs; now I know it can't be done! Oh well, if I do it next year, I'll have to first convince someone to give us at least 2 1/2 hrs. That's probably workable.

The first TSRA Foundation dinner was a great success and we thank everyone who attended, donated money or merchandise, or worked the event to make it a great evening. It was also good to hear Cam Edwards of NRA News speak at the TSRA Awards Banquet.

Thanks folks,
Chas.

I greatly enjoyed my first TSRA meeting and will attend again in the future. It was great to meet some of the members of this forum and also get a chance to finally attend one of Charles's seminars. Although it was shorter than he would have like, it contained a lot of valuable information that everyone benefited from.

I had planned to be there, but we learned on Wednesday that my mother in law is terminally ill, and so we had other priorities to attend to.

Sorry you couldn't make it TAM. Will add your mother-in-law to the prayers.

It was really nice and got to see a few forum members that I had never met before. As always, Charles seminar was phenomenal even though he had to cut out a lot of good information. I also enjoyed getting to hear from Alice Tripp, our TSRA Legislative lead and her views and lead points on the pending bills we have in front of the legislation. Her requests echoed what we have been hearing on this forum from Charles, and that is to contact your STATE Senator and Representative. Apparently there are some who have been contacting their federal Senators and Representatives. :banghead:

I wish I had've been able to make it out Sunday also, but other commitments prevented that.

I am already looking forward to next year!!! :thumbs2:

We were hanging around the Texas CHL table when lunch time rolled around and were about to head out to find a burger or something to eat so we'd be back in time for Charles' seminar when KeithB very generously offered his luncheon tickets to us. SO, we were lucky enough to be able to hear Kay Bailey Hutchison speak, as well as have a really great lunch to boot!! Thank YOU again, KeithB!

It was nice to meet DoubleJ and visit with Tom again too!

When Charles started his presentation, he said he noticed some familar faces in the crowd and wondered why anyone would want to hear him more than once. What I wanted to tell him is MrFos and I are Charles Cotton groupies (jk)!!

To tell the truth, this was our third time to hear him speak and we go back for more because we come away with something more each time we've heard it.

Actually, I can't take credit for the tickets, I just passed them along. Our members SkinnyB78 and Jessica were the generous donors, so thanks go to them! :thumbs2:

Just glad the tix didn't go to waste! Was great meeting Keith B and Double J and all the other folks while we were stopped at the forum table. I picked up a 2nd stock in Maple for my new Ruger 10/22 to try my hand at refinishing stocks at the gun show. Got to meet Chris Bird - waaay cool! Then we headed off to hear KBH. VERY AWESOME! Oh, and Mr. Joe Driver is very tall! I had a great time talking with him after KBH's luncheon.
