I'd have suggested something stronger than pepper spray, although it would be been a good start.

Crimestoppers:Woman Attacked at West Little Rock Post Office
Wednesday June 14, 2006 9:36pm Reporter: Scott Inman Posted By: Talisa Austin
Little Rock - Two men jumped a woman outside a west Little Rock post office and sexually assaulted her and they are still on the loose. Police want your help in tracking them down.
(Michelle Hill, Crimestoppers Officer)"She had a mailbox inside. She got out of her vehicle. Went in and checked her mail."
When she came out of a post office just off Chenal Parkway, she became the victim of a sexual crime. Two men approached the woman in the parking lot. She was able to quickly get in her car, but couldn't lock the door fast enough. One of the suspects got in the passenger seat and attacked her.
(Hill)"I think they sat and waited for somebody to walk up by themselves."
The woman managed to get free from the suspect and dash into the parking lot of a nearby office building. She hid behind a dumpster, when the two suspects found her and raped her. The victim did give police a good description of the suspects.
(Hill)"One was a black male, bald…The other had a cartoon character, snoopy, on his shirt."
(Hill)"We're also looking for a primer-gray, larger model car. She described it almost as antique looking. It had spinning rims."
Hill says the post office parking lot was well-lighted and cameras do monitor the inside. However, the crime is a good reminder to women that if it's late at night, they should consider almost any place unsafe.
(Hill)"Don't go out by yourself alone at night…There's power in numbers. How you carry your keys…It can look like a weapon.. Pepper spray - nothing illegal about women and men carrying pepper spray."
