I was recounting this story I remembered seeing on the Discovery Channel long ago to someone today. I want to say I saw this back sometime in the 90s so I don't know if there's a youtube clip but was at least hoping to find some kind of news story or report on it that I could forward. I think the DC segment was called "The Magic Bullet" but the years could leave me remembering that incorrectly.
At anyrate it was talking about this 1 in a million scenario that resulted in a death. Someone was shooting a semi-auto handgun at an outdoor range. I think this was attributed to some kind of equipment malfunction over user error but either way a second shot got fired during the recoil at an upward angle. It went over the berm, went through the roof of the club house behind, hit a steal support I beam, ricocheted at just the right angle that ended up landing in a womans head that was just sitting there drinking a soda.
Does this ring any bells for anyone? Anyone have a link to an actual report on the story?

I think that was at the Dallas Pistol Club and the gun was a handgung and the person shot was a kid in the air pistol house.
Real gun control, carrying 24/7/365

Great memory Jim.
I remember the same article being mentioned here, but can't find a link to more information for the life of me. Best I could find was this information posted on THR.

He was actually inside the air rifle building when a round left the match area, entered the building high and apparently was deflected downward, striking the boy...the shot was believed to have been a high shot that passed through poorly maintained, gapped wooden baffles."
