LITTLE ROCK — A victim turned the tables on a would-be robbery in the Wal-Mart parking lot at the intersection of Cantrell Rd. and Chenal Parkway Monday night, according to a police report.

About 11:30 p.m. Wednesday night found John Antonetz, 63, with his wife in the Lydia Pace-Antonetz, 57, were loading groceries in their car, when a man attempted to rob them with a gun, according to a report from the Little Rock Police Department.

While the man struggled with Pace-Antonetz for her purse, Antonetz grabbed his concealed .357 revolver, according to the report. John told officers he shot at the robber four times before the robber fled in a car driven by another person, the report said.

Police arrested Johnathan Terry, 24, of England at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and charged with aggravated robbery, according to a report. Sherry Battles, 25, of North Little Rock was also arrested and charged with aggravated robbery, disorderly conduct and obstruction of government operations.

Terry's condition is unknown.

Police noted that Antonetz does have a valid concealed weapons permit.

I had to do a double take when I saw the perp was from England. Turns out this England is 20 miles from Little Rock where this happened.

He needs to change the rounds he is shooting, If I shoot someone 4 times, I would be very disappointed if he was able to flee.

Handguns, even in the calibers starting w/ a "4" are not the man stoppers many think they are. Adrenaline, cocaine, & meth all contribute to lessening the inital effects of impact & the person shot must then bleed out.

Do not shoot once & watch to see if he drops his weapon & falls.
Shoot til the threat is stopped.

A pizza driver in <Indianapolis, Indiana?> was approached by
a robber with a gun.

The pizza man pulled his own weapon, a 9mm handgun, and
fired 10 rounds into the perp. Only when the final GG's shot
was fired did the perp fall to the ground.

As the perp was dying, his last words were "I only wanted
pizza."

The GG took the perp's handgun and drove back to his store
to call the federales. He didn't want the BG's guy to be picked
up by anyone else.

Upon examination the perp's gun was found to have a fully
charged magazine. But he had not actually chambered a
round.

"rlol"
He managed to bring the gun to the gun fight. I presume he neglected to continue that train of thought to chamber a round. Fortunately his stupidity saved a life. Not his own, but a life nonetheless.

The bad guy must be a graduate of the 'hollywood skool of gunfighting' where proper etiquette means holding the gun sideways and always rack the slide just before you're going to shoot. Oh, and silencers work on revolvers too. :-)
