Should I send a copy of my Driver's License??
My instructor told me we have to send a copy of our DL and a bill showing proof of residence. Is that really necessary? Thanks in advance and I look forward to my time here...

First of all - howdy and welcome. Second of all, we are a smallish board here and a 15 minute lag between question and answer isn't unusual. Calm down a bit - although I know it is exciting.
I didn't send a copy of my DL and I don't know why you would want to. They have your DL # and are doing a background check as it is...

You do not have to send in a copy of your DL or any bill.robert_de_niro wrote:My instructor told me we have to send a copy of our DL and a bill showing proof of residence. Is that really necessary? Thanks in advance and I look forward to my time here...
In fact, you don't have to even be a resident of Texas to obtain a Texas CHL. This was given to the instructors at the last CHL instructor renewal class at DPS. Perhaps your instructor has yet to renew. ??
And I know it's picky, but it is a driver license, not driver's license.
