first time I noticed printing.

first time I noticed printing.
I have had CHL for 9 years, in that time I have scrutinizes fanny packs and t-shirts looking for someone else printing. It is because I have never noticed another, that I relaxed, and assumed no one can see mine.
this past Friday I was setting across from an old boy at a Mexican cafe in FtWorth, and I noticed his T-shirt ".357 faster than 911" so I looked at his hip, an sure enough, a print as big as day.
truth is, I never would have noticed were it not for his shirt's slogan.
So if you think your hidden, you need to ditch the fanny packs, tactical cloths, gun or ammo brand hats and stickers, and man purses.

Re: first time I noticed printing.
I don't agree on the fanny packs - they could be holding any number of things not related to firearms.
I'm not entirely certain as to what tactical clothes you refer to. Many don't look particularly out of the norm. (Mall Ninja styles being the exception)
Man purses don't say gun to me. They say effeminate geek, but not gun...
Gun message hats and shirts simply say bad taste to me.
In fact, walking billboards of any kind, be they a marketers dream of brand loyalty plastered all over the clothing or so-called status wear, i.e., advertisements for some designer or other with the designers name emblazoned on are acts of self denigration.
Of course, the wearers of such apparently aren't aware of their obliviously declared lack of self worthiness or their pitiful declaration of brand loyalty to Chevy or Smith and Wesson.
Dupes all.

This is what I carry with me to keep my laptop and other *work* required gear safe...Can you recommend a better way for me not to look like a girl?

A purse by any other name would look as sweet.
Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.

Re: first time I noticed printing.
I *almost* feel self conscious about asking where you get a bag like that. I carry so much crap in my pockets that I've migrated to wearing cargo pants on a regular basis. I refuse to run around with a batman utility belt and fanny packs just aren't my thing. Maybe it's time to get a man-bag...
I've also been told that wearing photographer's vests and hawaiian shirts screams CHL, if not to the general public, at least to other CHLs.

I need one for my carry laptop and because keeping screw drivers and all my other junk in my pockets gets really uncomfortable.

I have gotten to the point where I almost totally disregard the text/graphics on a t-shirt. It usually needs to have a key-word that appeals to my warped-sense of humor to even get my notice.

If you are worried about " printing ", relax. Most of the world is in " condition brown" and will never notice. Or really care.
The only people who see are other people carrying or someone trained to watch. The biggest tip off that I see are the tacticool vests and loud shirts and Jumbo Versipacks. If you leave those things off, you are good to go....I also used one of the man bags while on vacation at the beach with great success. Suntan lotion, keys, wallet, etc., never got a second look from anyone, anywhere.
thanks,
George

Well, to each their own. You must see a lot of girly men when you go to the airport.Abraham wrote:pbwalker,

If it's girly to carry that bag, call me a girl. But I'll be laughing all the way to the bank.

I carry mine sometimes in a big cooler bag, in it I can put my 92fs and net book along with my lunch.pbwalker wrote:Well, to each their own. You must see a lot of girly men when you go to the airport.Abraham wrote:pbwalker,

No one has called me a girly man ...

I schlep a laptop & sundry cables, CDs, etc all day, every day. This LowePro backpack looks more business like when carried by the handle, yet has backpack straps as well. Plus it's got a far more practical set of pockets & organizers w/in it. And *I* don't think it screams 'murse'.

Oh - but I've no clue whether there'd be any room for a firearm. I can't imagine not carrying on my person, regardless. Facing a threat on the street, and having to rummage through a bag for a weapon? That'd turn the finest Wall Street Power Briefcase into a murse in 0.0000001 seconds!

I'll quit carrying a gun when they make murder and armed robbery illegal
