the story was great. I hope none of the good guy's lead was involved in the injury to the female student.

The only way it could have ended better would have been if the 2nd suspect was killed as well.

Unfortunately an innocent was caught in the cross-fire, but it sounds like she made it out without life threatening injuries. I wonder if she'll have bullet wound scars to remind her of how lucky she was that a fellow student was armed....

I agree the only thing that I see wrong with this was the fact that one got away and an innocent bystander was hurt. I commend the young man that made the courageous discussion to fight back, had he not they would have all probably been killed. Good job!!

Excellent Story - it is to bad that the young lady was shot- however much worse things appeared immenent.. In all reality Im sure that she would have rather of been shot than have the lifetime of emotional scars resulted from an aggravated rape.. terrible

I don't believe that is a choice many young ladys would want to make.

Not saying those officers didn't know what they were doing. I Personally know BOTH of the officers in the above article, and worked with them both very frequently.
They are both respectable officers, and from what I understand, the bystander was hit by a round, or part of a round that overpenetrated, and went off to the side. Eg, she was NOT directly behind
the suspect, but as we all have read, when a bullet passes through a person, it can do weird things.

I was 2 blocks away when It happened.

Point is, even people who ARE trained, and hit their target aren't immune from bad luck.

I agree. the quotes around "well trained" was supposed to signify sarcasm. Many of us know that many police officers are lousy shots at best.
