Just after a couple of tech support guys went postal up in the northwest a few years ago, I was working for a tech support company that decided to give out balloons for good QA reports. About once or twice per shift there would be a bang, a collective thump of bodies on the floor with various metallic sounds mixed in, then a repeat of the metallic sounds as knives were folded and safeties reengaged.usa1 wrote:recently at a wedding, this huge balloon was suspended from the ceiling full of confetti .
when it was remotely popped to release the contents , i almost hit the floor

I got pretty good at going from sitting in a swivel chair to being one with the carpet before the balloon pieces hit the ground. It took about two weeks before most of us had built up enough of a tolerance to it to stay seated, but we still flinched hard every time.
