Printing is it an offense?

Do I lose my CHL for printing, or I get just a warning from LEO if ever called for inspection?

In hot summer if I carry OWB, with lose shirt. I would mostly likely be printing for an trained eyes like those of LEOs or CHLers. Most people do not notice, do not bother or think I am undercover LEO.
I have a smartcarry too and I love it, However, nothing beat classic OWB, FBI canted, Blackhawk SEPRA or leather holster.

Printing is not against the law, so far as I know. It's just preferable to avoid it if possible, because it should not be your desire to broadcast that you have a gun. Concealed means concealed, but if a concealed gun is printing, then although you might be within the letter of the law, you're certainly negating your efforts to conceal.

So NO, you can't lose your CHL for printing. In fact, the only warning you're likely to get from an LEO is likely to be friendly in nature.... ...a sort of "Hey buddy, your slip is showing" kind of thing.

That said, try not to print, but don't spend too much time worrying about it. Most people will never notice printing at all, and even if they notice it, they won't know what is printing. It could be a PDA, cell phone, insulin pump, flashlight, etc., etc., etc.

Printing has many of the supposed disadvantages of open carry with none of the actual advantages.

I am a skinny person and all I wear is an OWB holster. I carry a Kimber Ultra CDP II. Its a small gun but not a subcompact. Since I am so skinny, I "try" to wear loose shirts but I still print. No one can ever tell I am wearing a gun, but it still prints. No one has ever said anything to me or probably will ever say anything. I wouldn't worry about it.

Printing is not against the law specifically. I.e. there's no law that says, "If you are carrying adn someone sees a buldge you're arrested and lose your chl"

The law says (adn I cant look it up right now) that the handgun cannot be observable by an ordinary and reasonable person. AS long as you're not printing an outline of a glock (and if you have even the worst holster ever, this would never happen) you would be fine.


Honestly, I've accidentally open carried twice, once in my office, and nobody even noticed. Most people won't notice.

Actually it comes down to "intent". If YOU KNOW you are not completely concealing your gun, then yes, you are violating the law should a LEO or observant person make a complaint. If someone else knocks you off, then that also adds to it.

When I first got my CHL, I was carrying where I worked. I reached for my wallet and accidentally pulled my cover garment over and behind my weapon. It was like that for a few hours until I noticed. I had been all around the office and nobody noticed or cared.

The other time, I was working in my yard and was carrying openly as I usually do, then the puppy gets out, and I chase him down. He's about 2 miles away when I finally catch him, realizing I'm open carrying as I do so.

This is why I don't OC in the yard, I am not as discrete as usual when in the yard but I always carry IWB with some kind of a shirt. I always seem to have to visit a neighbor or go get the kids from down the street.

Most do not seem to care or know what's under your t-shirt.

As long as you are not overly exposing the grip or just plain brandishing, you shouldn't have a problem.

Most people new to CHL'ing are overly worried about "printing" I used to be like this under I started realizing it really isn't a huge issue.
