Just fun today

Post by longtooth »

The Norinco I bought several weeks ago from High Velocity. Immediately shot it just enough to check function.
This evening I went to the range by myself :hurry: , no one to train, not checking or working on anything, just for fun. Man, I dont know when was the last time I got to do this.
The Nork

Image

First 50 rds were at 10 yds.
I shot 5 rds at a spot just to check sites then 45 at 10 yd.

Image

Had some fun at different distances. Probably 200 rds total.
Last 18 at 20yds 2 hands standing. Almost let one slip off at the bottom. :banghead:
HV is a better shot than I am. I assure all that this gun will outshoot me.

Paper is 6X9 Spred is 7X4.25........Thanks HV. Believe I'll keep it.

Hey Tooth!

Good lookin' 1911. I hear good things about the norincos except from the purists.

Looks like yours has some modifications. Did someone mill the front serrations to match the rear? I don't recall ever seeing a Nork with slanted ones let alone front and rear. Is that with the original barrel and bushing or have they been fitted?

Your observations are all correct.
The gun is a build project by our own High Velocity.
Here are the mods & he did all work himself.

Blued steel frame
Blued steel naked slide with lowered and flared ejection port, front cocking serrations, and novak site cuts.
Plain black Novak rear site
Narrow fiber optic front site from Fusion Firearms
Wilson extractor
Wilson wide single sided thumb safety
Wilson trigger
STI tool steel hammer and STI titanium hammer strut
Wolff springs
Extended mag catch (IDPA legal)
Fusion firearms stainless, fitted barrel bushing,
Smith & Alexander beaver tail grip safety
Smith & Alexander magwell/checkered mainspring housing
Smith & Alexander grip screws
Hogue checkered double diamond grips

Yes Right handed & authoritic too. Thus the little left push when I begin to fatigue a little. Longer I shoot the more I really have to concentrate on trigger control.

Pictures.
Now, for all of you that have been around for a WHILE, you know I name all my guns. Been thinkin bout this one since I got it from our own HV. BTW it is a keeper sir. Now, Most folks give their guns girl names. I only have one lady in the bunch.
That is Kim. Kim is short for Kimber ly Kay
Image

Well, I have never given a new to me gun (only own one that I bought new.) the same name as a previous one.
This will be the first time. I just dont want to be w/o a Bear.
Dad had a dog named Bear when he was a boy. I remember as a kid at family reunions listening to all the tails of Bear runnin the woods w/ my Dad.

So, here is Bear again.
