Sgt. Norris was NOT anti civilian gun.... He was a bit of an elitist who felt civilians should leave it to the police wherever possible but that in my limited experience is a common LEO attitiude.
Reasonable gun control is hitting your target with the first shot.

Leave what to the police? To show up and miss 86% of their shots?

LOL...I love that line about showing up just to miss 86% of their shots!

Did y'all happen to click the link to the actual NYT website? If so, look at the picture and all the bad grips?? The guy (4th down) looks like the only one who knows how to properly grip a pistol. He's left-handed and his thumbs aren't visible, but he's probably pretty close.

Overall I thought it was a positive article for the NYT.
