Carrying in vehicle while in motion....
Just wondering what you guys/gals do when carrying concealed in the vehicle.
Do you carry on the hip, console, glove box? I have seen the holster to go in between your legs but that wouldn't help me at all. I drive a Chevy pick up, my best bet is to carry on right side in between console & seat, possibly conceal with a towel/shirt thrown over it. This is of course for driving only, not storing while out of the vehicle.
How do you guys carry and what type vehicle?

Mostly in a holster, either IWB or OWB depending on how I feel that day. Otherwise, in a Fatboy Versipack by Maxpedition or in a Safepacker.

I have been considering the Fatboy from Maxpedition for several years. Ever since the old "Kung Fu" TV show I thought the idea of a "man bag" would be pretty cool, and the Maxpedition line would fit the bill perfectly. As soon as enough of you guys make it socially acceptable to carry the Fatboy, I'll gladly jump right in.The Annoyed Man wrote:Mostly in a holster, either IWB or OWB depending on how I feel that day. It's funny you say that because tonight I was romaing around on the Maxpedition website here at work and a friend was looking on and we ran across the fanny packs... excuse me...the OTCA Versipack which is a combat-ready waist bag .mr surveyor wrote:As soon as enough of you guys make it socially acceptable to carry the Fatboy, I'll gladly jump right in.

Re: Carrying in vehicle while in motion....
The Fatboy may not be the choice of the hipster, but it sure is handy for a man on the move and is quite easily the best $60 I've spent so far this year. For better or worse comfort and convenience trumps cool for me these days, and you will find that it helps out with more than just car carry

Re: Carrying in vehicle while in motion....
I drive a 4runner - either in the center console or cross-draw IWB.
CHL since 01/26/09
Re: Carrying in vehicle while in motion....
i use my truck for work ( in and out of it all day )
so i mounted a cheap nylon holster with a thumb break
under my truck seat to hold my primary gun .
while keeping a secondary firearm in my pocket .

While you are waiting, might I suggest the Uncle Mike's Briefcase? Perfectly acceptable carry for anyone, either by the hand grip or using the shoulder strap. And the weapon is always readily available in the hidden pocket holster (slide hand in top and draw).mr surveyor wrote:I have been considering the Fatboy from Maxpedition for several years. Me ??
I mostly ride a Goldwing (Honda motorcycle) which has a back rest on it.
40% of tha' time, I'm driving a Toyotra 4 Runner.
I carry a CW-40 and/or a 5" XD .45 ..
Both, are always worn OWB at about 3:30 // 4 O' clock.
I just slide in, fasten the seat belt and drive. The motorcycle isn't a problem. I just wear my shirts out and keep it covered.
Who was it here ... ( srothstein ?? ) who stated: Put it on, cover it up ... and forget it ! (Printing)
Over tha' last year or so, I've learned... daily carry will get easier !! I try not to carry my gun in so many different configurations and//or locations.
Good luck..Thanks for being here !
