I know this is OT and my very well be the first thread to get locked, but I want to take the time to again thank Chas for starting this forum.

It is so nice to come here and read the exchanges without all the bickering and name calling. Some of the other online communities contain a wealth of information and I continue to visit. Here you get a wealth of information without the baggage.

Thank you, Chas.

Shut this thread down? Not a chance!!

Seriously, I really appreciate your comments and I too am very happy with the forum. I follow other forums also and sometimes wonder how many folks don't post questions or comments, simply because they don't want to be a flame magnet.

Those who have registered have made TexasCHLforum exactly what I had hoped it would be when it was launched last December. In truth, you folks deserve the credit for what TexasCHLforum is becoming, not me. I haven’t really had to do any moderating. All I did was push the “go button.

Thanks again,
Chas.

When I can not vist this site, and packing.org, I feel so lost, so alone. I often wonder if ...

 Darn. The sensitive side erupts  Thanks for this site, Chas. You are a great American, and a greater Texican.

I enjoy the forum. I believe it's a valuable resource.

I only regret the animosity on tx.guns (another valuable resource) that led to this forum's creation. The personal differences there have probably kept some of its better members from joining here.

I wasn't part of that fight; I still read tx.guns, and I'm enjoying this forum as well.

What is TX.guns and how do you get there? Not that I would leave here by any stretch of the imagination. :D

It's a usenet group. Usenet is one of the oldest internet protocols. The quick, easy way to get there is through Google Groups.

Be aware that there is a lot of cross-posted trash that originates in other groups. The best way to participate is to get a real newsreader, such as FreeAgent (Windows) or Newswatcher (Mac).
