What's your pledge?

Post by Chip »

Truly disturbing, especially close to the end:

My pledge is to do everything within my power to hold back the rising tide of socialism coming from Washington. Somehow I don't think that's what Barack had in mind.

Oh, and I also pledge not to give any more of my money to any of the hacks who appeared in that. Ashton Kutchner, Courtney Cox, her anonymous hubby, Lucy Liu, some guy with missing teeth, and I have no idea who the clown was that kissed his arms after worshipping His Barackness.... who do they think they are to tell me I need to be of service?????
I will add, as a fifth circumstance in the situation of the House of Representatives, restraining them from oppressive measures, that they can make no law which will not have its full operation on themselves and their friends, as well as on the great mass of the society. - J Madison, Federalist #57

I love this forum! This is truly a place where people who have a strong desire to carry concealed, defend themselves, support our Second Amendment Rights can come to and discuss issues of interest and concern to them.

Thank you Chip for posting that. I watched with interest the entire video.

However I came away with a totally different feeling. It carries a good and noble message. I had a warm fuzzy feeling all throughout the video........EXCEPT for the last 15 or 20 seconds when it politicized the president.

After all, ALL members of our armed forces, make a pledge as well:

"The wordings of the current oath of enlistment and oath for commissioned officers are as follows:

I, _____, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God." (Title 10, US Code; Act of 5 May 1960 replacing the wording first adopted in 1789, with amendment effective 5 October 1962)."

I also made a similar pledge. But I will NEVER pledge my loyalty to ANY temporary resident of the White House. The position that person hold? Of course, BUT not the person themselves.

I pledge to defend the Constitution. That's it. I still hold myself to my oath of enlistment, even though I've been a civvie for 16 years.

Also, I pledge to buy ammo whenever I can find some.

I pledge to flush only after a deuce, and not a single?
I can somehow connect the dots with that pledge and the one about pledging service to obama. And due to the ethics of this forum, I won't explain. :smilelol5:

I watched this whole video, and took note of all the freaks that I pledge my best never to support. As for my service, I pledge it to God first, my family second, and my country third. There are no exceptions.

Now I need a shower...the warm fuzzies are making me itch! "rlol"

Agreed. The reason these ya-hoos are on avideo cheering the concept of "Service" is likely that its a new idea to them... If they had any idea of what serving your fellow man meant, they'd have long since been involved in any number of organizations, churches, volunteer groups, charities and activities with young old and those in between.

I'd venture a guess that a fair number of the chanters can be viewed as having been the self centered, absorbed and non-involved slugs that we've all seen flitting aroundwith just one person in mind, themselves.

+1

In that entire clip I think I only heard two sentences that I find fault with.

I Pledge to the Republic. The Founding Fathers like James Madison defined republic in terms of representative democracy as opposed to only having direct democracy, and this usage is still employed by many viewing themselves as "republicans". In modern political science, republicanism refers to a specific ideology that is based on civic virtue and is considered distinct from ideologies such as liberalism.
