That's exactly what I do....but I call at 7:30 and talk to the dept. supervisor and ask if they got any ammo in overnight. If yes, I go immediately...if no, I've just saved a trip for nothing. ;-)

Considering how much Walmart squeezes its suppliers, I wouldn't be surprised if they don't get first pick during shortages.

I have not checked this for accuracy, but I was told by another ammo customer at Wal-Mart that the ammo companies gear up for half a year to manufacture shot shells and then retool and focus the other half a year on rifle and pistol ammunition. This year's heavy demand, according to this guy, caught the companies in the "shot shell" period. Regardless, I've noticed more availability lately in .45 caliber.

The not so super WalMart in Polson, MT had a load of every caliber except .45 acp last weekend. Yes, they even had oodles of .22 bricks and some .380's.

I'm still looking all over for some LP primers however.
