I'm hoping to find a set before my daughter hits the reading age. That, and most of H. Rider Haggard's books would be better than a fair bit of the junk I've seen in the "young readers" sections.

I've spent a few long night shifts reading Project Gutenberg etexts. It's one of the few sites that I can use to kill more time than Wikipedia.

Keeps me busy when not making inane posts or doing things like work.

I too read the Warlord of Mars stuff when I was younger. It was entertaining.

Some of the early volumes were being republished. I have 1-7 currently, I think. I have to dig through the 300+ books on the shelves. I loved that series in High School. You know, those books were all very similar - manly hero gets transported by questionable means to a lost/remote world, where he battles incredible odds and strange beasts to win the beautiful girl..... I couldn't get enough of them. I made it through maybe one or two of the Tarzan books, but went through the entire series of the others - Mars, Venus, Pellucidar, a plateau in Africa, Antarctica.... did I miss one? And I still remember the one phrase found in almost all those books.... "thus easily does Man throw off the thin veneer of civilization...." and (on topic) the hero usually had a great rifle.
