Rock Island Armory 1911

Post by NTexas_V-Star »

There's a full size 1911 (5") at the pawn shop next door to where I work. I can get it for 325 bucks. There's some surface rust on the gun, and the breach/barrel is worn some, which to me indicates that it has many shots fired through it.

Good buy? Opinions?

About two years ago, we bought a brand-new one for $375. The price has likely gone up a bit since then, but you should be able to find one for noticeably less than $500.

IMHO

I'd pass. That doesn't sound like that good of a deal.

Check out centerfiresystems.com or sarcoinc.com . Slightly more for a brand
new gun, no state sales tax. If it has breech, barrel wear + rust ......... for $325?
My advice, let the Pawn Shop keep it. Spend a few bucks more and get a new one.

Seen several new ones at the last 3-4 gun shows here in Houston for under $400.00

Thanks guys, yall are all one the side of the fence I was leaning towards.

:tiphat:

I'm not really in the market for one at the moment, but I thought if it was a good deal, I might go for it. I've got a SWEET springfield I'm payin on for my dad for a Christmas present, but I was willing to pony up the extra cash if it was a good deal.

I did a search on gunbroker, and wasn't too pleased with the results.

Thanks yall.
