I don't have any personal experience, but I've heard they're pretty decent. I'm probably going with a Stag myself.

I recently put together an AR on a DoubleStar lower. No issues - assembly was straightforward, and everything went together the way it should. The lower was finished as well as any and better than some.
Original CHL: 2000: 56 day turnaround
1st renewal, 2004: 34 days
2nd renewal, 2008: 81 days
3rd renewal, 2013: 12 days

I built an AR on a Doublestar lower....milspec is milspec IMHO. All the parts fit where they were supposed and the finish was acceptable.

I've no complaints...

I have a Doublestar lower with lots of rounds through it with no issues. I would buy another without hesitation.
