Ciener

I have a Ciener 22 conversion for my Hipowers. I have put about 4000 rounds through it with no problems. Then last week rounds would no longer feed out of the magazine. I cleaned the magazine but that didn't help. I assume that the mag spring has weakened so that it won't push the rounds out anymore. While Ciener does sell additional mags and parts for mags, they are difficult to deal with plus they won't take credit cards. Does anyone have any places to buy parts for Ciener other than Ciener?

I found an extra Ciener .22 magazine (for my Hi Power, as a matter of fact) at a gunshow. If you have any close by, you might shop around and see if someone there either has Ciener springs, or at least a spring that might work. There's some pretty unique niche sellers at gunshows...only place I can think of that might have what you are looking for.

That's the understatement of the decade. Years ago, the man told me that roughly 10% percent misfires were to be expected with his Glock conversion kit and that if I sent it back to him, he still would not guarantee any better. I wound up giving the thing away - with fair warning of what to expect.

I was just wondering what the quality of these .22 conversions for the Glocks was. As it turns out I LOVE shooting .22lr. I bought a Browning Buckmark a few months ago and already have close to 1800 rounds through it. So I was looking at the CZ75 Kadet conversion or a .22lr conversion for my Glock 17 or 19. There are a few other companies that make .22lr conversions out there for Glocks but not for my CZ. Other than Ciener has anyone had good or bad experience with Glock .22lr conversions?

As far as your problem goes I would contact a distributor for them and see if they have better luck or standings with Ciener.

Thanks. Wolff has a generic 22 single stack magazine spring. I think I will try that first.

I have a Ciener .22 conversion for my full-size 1911 and it works well. Yeah, it periodically fails to feed (maybe 1 out of 30-40 rounds), but I have had that with a lot of .22 semi-auto pistols over the years. I feel it has to do with the ammo as much as anything.

I agree about the quality of .22lr ammo. Rimfire ammo always seems to be hit or miss. I have a Browning Buckmark, Sig Mosquito, and a Ruger 22/45 and they all hic-up from time to time. The worst is the Sig and the most reliable is the Ruger so far. I have almost 1800rds through the Buckmark in 5 months and almost that many through the Sig. The mosquito is a jam-a-matic and the Ruger is pretty reliable so far. Less than 500rds through it though. Time will tell, but I am hesitant to spend hundreds on a .22 conversion yet...even though I want one BAD!
