were happy to have the opportunity to meet him.

Great gun, great leather, great price !! :cheers2:

All I need to do is find a leather worker than can cut
the belt down by about 4 inches. E-mailed the belt maker
(Tucker), they will not do alteration work. That surprised me,
but I guess that's just the way it is.
I emailed them and they said to call them. I never called. i guess they didn't want to tell me no in an email. I am stunned that they won't alter the belt. Beltman will gladly shorten their belts for 10 bucks. i have had them do it when I lost weight. Maybe they will help.

Thanks, I'll try them and see if they offer belt size alteration even though it is not one of their belts.

When I e-mailed Ticker, this was the reply..... short and to the point:

Dave,
We cannot cut down your belt. Tucker doesn't do that. Sorry.

Yep...Rob is the one who sent me an email saying to call them. It kind of ticked me off that he couldn't answer a simple question by email. ...LOL...now I know why. He wanted to let me down easy. One thing for certain...I won't be buying any products from them in the future. Cutting a belt down is no big deal. that just doesn't sit well with me. Maybe they don't actually make the belts themselves and it is a problem sending them to the third party. Who knows...oh well. If you wouldn't mind, let me know what Beltman does. I am curious if he is willing to alter a belt he didn't make. I could not be happier with his belt...and when he altered it...cut it down by 4 inches...it looked like it did when new. he even repaired all the scuffs I had put in it....and some of those looked pretty bad.

Again, thanks for the word about Beltman. I e-mailed them this evening and explained the situation to them, and that I had been referred by a satisfied customer. Hope to hear back from them on Monday, I will let you know.....

That's what I like so much about this forum that Charles has created for the rest of us.... there are so many good folks here willing to share information and help each other out. :thumbs2: That sure is a pleasant change from some of the other gun related discussion boards where it's best to put on flame retardent clothing before asking a simple question !

I wonder if he can't cut it down because he either A.) doesn't have the time to be altering belts all the time when he's busy making other people's holsters/belts or B.) he doesn't cut them down when they're etched with a design.

A) would be a serious customer service issue. having the attitude that once you sell a product to someone they are on their own from that point on is not good business. The design looks like it is stamped into the belt, not etched, but either way, the look would not be affected since the design is basically just a repeat over and over again. It isn't like a scene that would be stopped pre-maturely or a name that would be interfered with. WE really have no way of knowing what his excuses are for not servicing the products he sells, but I would think the two you mentioned would be pretty bad excuses. I hope it isn't that he doesn't care about the customers needs after the sell.

Just an update..... I received a phone call from Belt Man on Friday afternoon in response to my e-mail about cutting the belt down. He was most helpful and will cut the belt down for a very modest fee of $15. He gave me directions to the section on his web site for proper measurement of the belt and mailing instructions. It will leave here by USPS on Monday !

I was very impressed with his customer service attitude !! :hurry:

Wow!!! He did the same when he adjusted a belt I bought from him. To provide this level of service when he is working on some other vendors belt speaks very well for him. :tiphat:

03Lightningrocks,

The belt came backfrom the Belt Man today.... perfect fit, and the resizing
is so well done, it is impossible to tell that any work was done to it !!

One heck of a good job. :thumbs2:

I called them today to personally express my appreciation. :hurry:
