WTB Kahr P380

Post by wilder »

I'd like to buy a Kahr P380 in DFW. I've got cash ready and a CHL.

I got one for my son from Bullet Trap in Plano. Around November, if I am remembering right. They ordered it for me and had it in two days. With the P380 being a newly released weapon, I am doubtful about what kind of luck you are going to have finding a deal on a used one. Be careful, some of the early released ones had problems. My son has had to send his back twice now. :banghead: Failure to feed, rounds jamming in the barrel. that was fun trying to bang the slide open with a live round in the gun. Failure to go full into battery. Yep...it has been quite the pleasure, testing that gun for Kahr. I hear the recent ones are doing better.

Bullet Trap said 90 days to get one. I appreciate the insight about getting a newer one. I'd be perfectly happy to find a new one.

WOW!!! 90 days!!! I guess the waiting list grew since November. I have been thinking about buying one for myself. I may go ahead and order one if it is taking that long. Thanks for the update.

Wilder,

I found you a NIB P380 for $650. I'm not sure how that price stacks up to what you've seen, but there's zero wait.

PM sent...

ETA, this one has standard sites, and after looking around they're asking MSRP for this gun.

Ok, after realizing the first one wasn't such a hot find, considering the price, I felt obligated to find a better deal. Sent you a PM about two more...one with NS and one w/out...priced $648 and $564 respectively.

Now I've redeemed myself! :txflag:

You may not realize this, but the system tells him when he get's a PM. You really don't have to post that you sent a PM for him to know he got one. ;-)

I found one at a local shop 2 weeks about and bout it. My price was lower with their LE discount, but I have seen them at GT's in Austin for sub $500. I *think* they sell to the public so it may be worth a trip to save the coin.

Was this after the 200rd break in? Sorry to hear about your luck. Mine was flawless for the break in period with all kinds of .380, and it works find with Gold Dots. It fits snug in my Galco Ankle Glove around my boots when I'm on duty.

Also - while you're shopping - they are now selling them with Trijicon night sights, they released them past few weeks. Once you find one stay away from Crimson Trace's website or you will find yourself jonesing for a laser grip.

The gun has yet to get through a six round magazine without a problem. What really ticked us off was them sending back the firearm without test firing it. I say without test firing it because it didn't make it through a whole magazine before a failure to feed. I have heard from others, such as you, that they have had few problems. Most of the troubles seem to be with the first few guns Kahr released.
