Can anyone comment on CHL rules for visits to the USS Lexington in Corpus Christi?
Thanks!

Is it a National Park or a NRA? Do federal employees work there? Any "yes" is a "no" to you.

If it was a National Park, after Feb 22 2010 orig poster would be ok (thanks credit card reform act :P )

Based on this page doesn't look like the feds still own or run the ship

Am I reading this correctly? After Feb 22, it will be legal to carry in national parks?

WE CAN NOT carry in buildings/structures where there are federal employees; however, we can carry concealed when in the open. (pun intended)

Anyone remember a broo ha ha about it not being "Handicap accessible" awhile back? But how many wheelchair bound or disabled people were on Navy ships at the time?

The “Handicapped Accessible” statue is federal. Any place that is open to the public or receives fed funds must follow the statue.

I took my father-in-law to visit the Lex 5 years ago. He had a real problem making it up to the flight deck.

By the way, he was a Naval Aviator during WW2. Flew Wildcats off of carriers like the Lex. Was awarded the Navy Cross among many others. He had 2 hips replaced last year. He is 93 and I know he will appreciate the Lex being “Handicapped Accessible” if we ever get to visit it again.

it's not a Naval ship any more. And that's not the point. It is a museum. Any veteran, expecially a veteran of that era, deserves to be able to walk, roll, push pull or tug themselves on to that vessel.

I would accompany my WW II veteran father and bring my gun, under authority of my CHL.

If anything embodies RKBA, this does. This is what he fought for.

They would have to tear the whole thing apart to make it "Handicap Accessible", I understand where you are coming from I really do.
