As the title suggests, looking for a Mosin Nagant rifle. This is going to be a project rifle, so stock condition doesn't matter a whole lot (prefer no cracks). Prefer FTF in or around the San Antonio area. Looking to spend around $100.
Thanks!

Re: WTB Mosin Nagant
I was at Cabela's about 2 weeks ago and they had some there for your asking price and it's not a "project gun" either. They were in good condition, ready to shoot.
They had a 10% off sale for NRA members 2 weeks ago. Woo, hoo!

Re: WTB Mosin Nagant
This was the one in Ft Worth. They had Mosin Nagants for $99. Plus, if you were a NRA member (you may join right there in the store), you get an additional 10% off. So, that's only $89 for a nice Mosin Nagant rifle. These were not "project guns". They were rifles that looked like they were brand new! The stocks were refinished to look new. They had some Swiss K31's for ($269 - $27 NRA discount = $242). I spotted 4 Tula Mosins, one of which was a '39 in really decent shape. The clerk asked me why I was looking through all of them, since they were all the SAME?!pbwalker wrote:Was this the one in Buda?

I was gonna buy one, but I've bought too many guns lately as presents for my Dad (My wife doesn't allow me to have guns). I didn't bring any extra cash with me as I was just there to pick up some hard to find ammo. If my wife saw a big charge for a gun on the credit card bill, she'll probably shoot me with it! I think I shed a tear as I put the Mosin Nagant back down....

They had more than a dozen Mosins for you to pick and choose from.
Cabela's become my favorite store because they support the NRA and they have hard to find stuff at reasonable prices. They have hard to find ammo at reasonable prices. I haven't seen 380 ammo at Wal Mart or Academy for over a year. The Dallas Gun show was selling 380 ammo for $45 per box of 20 hollow points. Cabela's was selling it for $24, including the NRA discount. They also had $24 per box of 50 FMJ ball 380 ammo. They were selling hard to find 50 bmg ammo at reasonable prices, too. Also, Dallas gun shows were selling sealable dry boxes for ammo storage for $15 each. Cabela's gives these to you for free if you make large ammo purchases. This was 2 weeks ago, so you might want to call them in advance to see if they have any Mosins in stock before you make the drive out to Cabela's.
Have fun,
