Need help/advise with my Beretta 92FS
Let me start off my saying that this gun is NOT the gun that I carry. I use my HK P2000sk and Glock 23 for defense purposes.
My Beretta is a gun that I purchased about a year ago and really wanted to use it for a "fun" gun. So far, I could never rely on it for defensive purposes (kinda crazy, since the Army does). This gun stove pipes way too much to rely on it.
However, I'm also not the kind to just throw the gun out or trade it in for less than half of what I paid for it. Instead, I view it was a quest to make the gun what I want it to be. This gun will be very accurate and reliable (this is my quest).
So, where can I get custom Beretta parts? I want to change the trigger and the barrel to start with.
Also, I desperately need to polish the feed ramp. This may be the root of most of my problems.
Thanks in advance!
Jeff
P.S. - Love to hear from any of you that used it in the service.

Your problems are highly unusual for a Beretta. Is it new or used? Have you changed magazines? Checked the extractor for debris?
It is a heavy gun, and not nearly as prone to limp wristing as a Glock, so I doubt you are causing the malfunction.

Try contacting Beretta USA at (800) 636-3420 or http://www.berettausa.com/customer/index.htm (ask a question).
I used the above (ask a question) and got in touch w/ their tech support (I can't remember the person's name). I remember it took 1 day for them to respond to my initial email. We emailed and talked and he was able to send me some parts for my CX4.
Beretta's service was pretty good.

i carried 1911s for most of my police career; at least until i bought my 92FS 2 years ago. not only am i capable of making one nice ragged hole with an infinite number of loaded magazines, but i have owned 2 berettas, a 96 and a 92, and neither have ever jammed.
you might also look into getting a DAO hammer spring. this makes a huge difference in accuracy. the s/a trigger pull is really light, but not too light; pretty close to my springfield 1911.
when i got mine, i replaced the plastic guide rod with a metal one for cosmetic purposes, put in the DAO hammer spring, and have shot the crap out of it. i carry it a lot, both on and off duty. the only problem i've ever had was when i was about 50 miles off shore in the gulf, the grip screws collected some rust from my sweat and saltwater and one snapped off when i tried to take off the grip panels to clean it. i drilled it out and got the flat head screws to replace the hex heads.
it's an awesome weapon.

Dave Olhasso is definitely the guy I'd contact for parts. Sounds like an extractor issue. You can get complete frame parts kits from CDNN for $29. Then, you can sell off the ones you don't use over at the Beretta Forum. They'll buy them up and you can get back a few bucks. You might also try over there for some more troubleshooting info.

Oh, don't worry. I'm already doing to do this......because you told me toChris wrote:i thought i already did??? add the dao hammer spring...viola! ultimate 92FS.jnkirk1974 wrote:Let's just go ahead and list items that would help make the ultimate 92FS. I'm completely open!![]()
I know that I really need to polish the feed ramp. It's most likely the root of most of my problems. The shell actually jams when I try to chamber the first round (without firing the gun).
