TSRA announces Outstanding Law Enforcement Officer Awards

The Texas State Rifle Association announced the recipients of its inaugural Outstanding Law Enforcement Officer Award at the awards banquet and annual

meeting in Mesquite Texas. The award went to Senior Sergeant Mark Todd and Sergeant Kimberly Munley of the Department of the Army, Civilian Police Department of Fort Hood Texas.

The quick and decisive actions of Sergeants Todd and Munley were responsible for ending the shooting rampage at Fort Hood on 5 November 2009. Sergeant Munley was severely wounded in the shooting and has undergone several surgeries with more expected before recovery.
In addition to the TSRA award, Sergeants Todd and Munley received gift certificates courtesy of the Safariland Training Group and Sig Sauer pistols courtesy of Sig Sauer and GT Distributors.
The Texas State Rifle Association would like to express is sincere appreciation to the Safariland Training Group, GT Distributors and Sig Sauer for there contributions to the award.

While Texas has many outstanding LEOs, the honor couldn't have gone to anyone who deserve it more (IMHO).

Thanks for posting. Doubt this post will get the traffic of the DWI Marine, or "cuffed and stuffed" but I like it a whole lot better.


One of our instructors did some training for the Army PD that handled the incident and he said they are all a great group, very skilled, and very professional. Glad to see good officers getting some props.
