Post by dangerdan »

Hello ya'll
I am new to the forum, looking forward to getting my chl and going to wallyworld. now the ?. I did the online reg and paid the 140 on 8/21. I called dps on 8/25 to find out when they mailed out my packet so i could schedule my class. dps said it was sent 8/22. It is now 9/9. about how long does the packet take to get to ya I live in dallas? or maybe it was lost and i need to call and have one sent again, I did though already go and take the class so now I am just waiting and waiting so i can put everything together, thank you

Welcome to the forum. (No, the welcoming PM you received wasn't sent automatically, I really sent it.) I would definitely call DPS and ask for a replacement packet. It must have been lost if you haven't receive it yet.

BTW, you don't necessarily have to wait until you get your packet to take the class. The instructor should have "blank" packets that you can use for filling out the things he wants you to fill out in class. My instructor gave us our packets, but then, other than to have us get out the handbooks to mark certain sections, we never touched anything inside the packet. Of course my class wasn't all-inclusive (photos, fingerprints, and notary not provided).
Remember, in a life-or-death situation, when seconds count, the police are only minutes away.
