Check out "Black Gold Guns and Ammo". It's not a real big place and yet they had an amazing selection of new and used. I picked up a new Glock 30 and almost feel like I stole it! I saved enough off some of the bigger stores price I was able to afford a new holster and some ammo too. The folks there are real nice and didn't seem to mind my one million questions (of course what conversation took place once I left is unknown).
They have a website under the same name.
Have fun shopping.
Mind me asking the price of their Glocks, I'm in the market for a G32

The website says they work by appointment, so it appears there are no regular store hours.

i did call there earlier, talked to the owner (most likely) said that they do work by appt alot, with no real set schedules.
but he did say that he is used to staying late, just call before you go and he will either meet you there, or may already be set up with another appt and will be sure to hang around till you get there

It's a little far for me to drive, but I forwarded the website on to one of my buddies in Houston.

Give Gordon a chance to order it. He's ordering and giving me a hell of a deal on a Sig 229.

Thanks USA1 and G19, I'll give them a call. Although it's the Gun Show this weekend I'd like to buy locally.

Dealers have to list their business hours on their FFL application, and they have to be open during those hours for ATF inspections.

But, they can just list "Monday, Noon to 1 p.m." as their "official" hours, then work the rest of the time by appointment or by convenience.

Just a FYI...Anytime I've ever just dropped in, Gordon has been there with the doors open.

Couldn't have been me. I'm even more delightful in person.
Hold on, hold on, I'm getting popcorn! Image
The previews look good.... let me check the Critics...

:thumbs2: :thumbs2:

Yeppers... two thumbs up! I'm in line to get my popcorn and coke..

Sorry ya'll, no big surprise like in the movie "The Crying Game" or anything.
While I realize this is way off topic and a lot "funnier if you where there", I didn't want you to waste the popcorn.
Here's the deal: USA1 and used to work together. I recall telling him about the forum and his response was something along the lines of, "I haven't the time for such schinanigans, now leave me alone I'm 'ciphering.
I found that odd because I didn't think he could count. His demeanor at work could best be described as "thorney" (yes, with a t).
So imagine my shock when I realized that he had indeed joined the forum, and judging from his over four- thousand and five hundred posts, (hits home when you spell it out) he could not only count but read and write, not to mention come across as a likable guy as well.
(better hold onto something because if his head gets any bigger it will alter the the earths orbit)
He is a good guy, no doubt. I'm more than 55% sure that if I showed up at his home during the zombie uprising he wouldn't shoot me for my guns and ammo and grind me into food for his dogs.
So welcome to the forum USA1, be sure to post every now and then, ya hear?
P.S. Thanks for telling me about Gordon's store.

Um ,you must really have me mixed up with someone else.

I've been self employed for about 14 years and I work alone.
Also, I wasn't referred to this forum, I stumbled across it one day.

Just to put your mind at ease I'll PM you a picture of me....
Ah what the heck, Here's Mrs.USA1 and me. I'm the one on the right if you can't tell.

Oh dear, a case of mistaken identity. What could be in store on the next episode of "As the TX CHL Forum Turns"? :smilelol5:

...Watch as mctowalot makes a fool of himself for all the forum to see... :tiphat:
That's weird, you don't look "thorny" at all.
If you post what I had for lunch today I'm gonna freak!
Well, you do know Gordon...
Actually that's not making me any more comfortable...
