LCP 10-rnd mags

Post by Rex B »

I was in CTD the other day and noticed something new - A 10-round magazine for Ruger LCP.
Looked good, made by Pro-Mag, came with a finger-rest baseplate, $24.95.

It sticks out of the grip about 2 inches, so the finger-rest is useless.
However, my spare mag had the plain basepad, so I swapped that out.
And Cabelas had a mag holder that fit the longer mag just right.

Have not yet tested it though. Anyone tried one?

I haven't tried the one for an LCP, but I have used ProMag magazines with other guns (P-89, Bersa .380, High Point 995). To be honest, I'm not impressed with any of ProMag's products. Of the 6 I magazines I tried all but one caused jams and feeding problems with the guns I used them with. I guess my overall comment would be to really test it out thoroughly before you have to depend on it.

I agree. for now its a convenient way to carry ammo.

I have a number of Pro-Mags - Llama .380, HiPower. probably others So far the ones I have, work.

This one sure looks like quality, but looks can be deceiving.

Reliability is a non-issue with the 10 round magazine. It'll be only used at the range, so an occasional malady is okay 'cause the paper targets don't shoot back. Just use the Ruger brand magazine with the expensive bullets when it's in your pocket.

I practice/train only with how I carry. I simply want my muscle memory hammered in over & over. I carry with factory finger extension and thus wouldn't visit range any other way :coolgleamA:

Just as well-The LCP 10 rnd. magazine probably wouldn't fit a Glock 26 anyway. :coolgleamA:
