PT111 holster ?

PT111 holster ?
Today I bought the Taurus Millennium PT111 Pro
So I have to decide which holster to get.
CompTec's C-TAC?
Crossbreed's MiniTuck?
Other?
I like the C-TAC for the interchangeable Kydex, however, unless I get another compact, I will have to get a different holster anyway, so that won't influence my decision for this weapon.
I suppose for whichever I choose, I should get the horsehide rather than the black leather, due to the humidity and sweating in Houston?
Thanks

Whichever you decide on, I would definitely get the horsehide.Teamless wrote: I suppose for whichever I choose, I should get the horsehide rather than the black leather, due to the humidity and sweating in Houston?

It's only a little more money but horsehide is a much denser material that will last longer.
And, like you mentioned above, more resistant to moisture.
Leather (cow) can hold moisture in which we all know is not the best thing for your gun.

Both of the choices you mentioned are good from what I hear.
If you want to also have an OWB option, you'd like a Bianchi
Model 82 Carry-Lok. It's the one I use for my PT111 and it has
a wonderful device which holds the gun securely by the trigger guard,
yet allows for an easy draw.
The same model that fits a Taurus PT111 will fit a Glock 26.
The Model 82 comes in black or tan.

SIA - how easy is it to conceal the OWB vs an IWB?surprise_i'm_armed wrote:Teamless:

OWB is my choice and I find that you just need to have
a little volume in your T-shirts or buttoned shirts that can
be worn tails out. Since you are new to carrying, you are
paranoid that you are printing. Don't worry about the rest
of the world. They don't know they are supposed to be looking
for a gun on you.
IWB - I had one for a while but didn't like the gun up against my
skin and I didn't want to have to wear 2 shirts for comfort. It's a
fine choice with a more expensive IWB than the one I used, but keep
in mind that you have to move up a size in your shorts/pants to
compensate for the extra width of your Millenium.

Re: PT111 holster ?
you are absolutely right SIA, my issue that I am worried about more than anything else is Printing.
however, in my day to day activities, i normally have to have my shirt tucked in, so I think IWB is the normal way that I will have to carry.
your insights are good to know, I do appreciate it.

Re: PT111 holster ?
I carry my stainless Colt Officer in a Bianchi 82 and it's about the best compromise I've found yet. I'm too skinny(6' about 160lb) for IWB(so far). I have a Desantis Mini Slide that fits better and is less bulky but about an inch of the stainless slide sticks out the bottom of the holster. With a long enough shirt or coat it's not a problem. Another problem with IWB for me is I have to carry at 3 oclock for driving. Not just for comfort but to protect the seat in my truck. Some of you may be willing to sacrifice your upholstry, I'm not. I am gonna try a Crossbreed to see if I can wear it at 3 oclock.
Re: PT111 holster ?
That's where I wear mine. It's the most comfortable position for me.driver8 wrote: I am gonna try a Crossbreed to see if I can wear it at 3 oclock.
It's also the most accessible while sitting or driving.
I wear regular size T-Shirts without a problem.
The trick is to get the depth and cant adjusted just right.
This may take a few days of trial and error.

I just ordered the MiniTuck for my PT111, can't wait to get it and try it out.

Re: PT111 holster ?
The MTAC has the interchangeable kydex with a slab of leather, not the CTAC. Only the struts on which the hooks are mounted are leather on the CTAC>Teamless wrote:Today I bought the Taurus Millennium PT111 Pro
So I have to decide which holster to get.
CompTec's C-TAC?

Re: PT111 holster ?
i've got the pt140 (same size) and use the comptac 2 o'clock. i find it easier to conceal in this position and easier to retrieve. sitting or standing is fine, and almost no chance of printing. its even tuckable. even most shirts i can conceal the 15rd magazine in it. some pants don't like it though, i have a few the even though they have the room in the waist line they ride at the wrong height and make the gun dig into my pelvis. slowly rotating out those pants.
