Where are you based on your beliefs?

As the name indicates, this is the place for gun-related political discussions. It is not open to other political topics.

This one was nutty. I scored a 34.

Anarcho-Capitalism or voluntarism.
If we're talking about the Nolan Chart, someone who scores at the upper tip can certainly be AnCap or voluntaryist. Or an agorist, if that's your bent.

As for the libertarian purity test, I scored 147, but I only scored so high because I understand the specific terms they use in the way they intend (as opposed to the way the general public might instinctively respond). On the other hand, I only scored so low because they presented some flawed assumptions, and weighted them incorrectly.

That test is not really valid. It faces you with false dichotomies because it presents its questions in a yes/no format when they may not be answerable that way.
25 Are you against national service?
Yes
No
What kind of national service and to what degree? Voluntary or not? I can't answer that question yes/no. It needs to be more specific.
30 If it has to fight a war, should the U.S. try harder to avoid civilian targets?
Yes
No
Again, I can't answer that question yes/no. We already go out of our way to avoid hitting civillian targets, but gosh, where does it end?
35 Should we abolish public schools and universities?
Yes
No
This question and the many like it are the ones that really chap my hide. How can stuff like that be scored on a yes/no basis? What if I think that it is okay for the states to have these thngs but not the feds? What if I think that the states providing welfare is okay Constitutionally, but I object to it philosophically?

Incedentally, I scored 56.

The problem with these tests are, most people are all over the place politically if they really study the issues. I can find you Religious Leaders who are against gun ownership but for gay marriage and label themselves Republicans.
take each issue/candidate/whatever study it and try not to let Talking Heads or Political interest groups sway your thinking.
Basically dont go out of your way to Label yourself.
You can be against big government, but still be for the FDA (though I would change ALOT of stuff)

I'm a libertarian and this test concluded the same thing. Other than a single payer healthcare system, which I'm staunchly for, all my views are libertarian.

Here's another test:

Has a bit more insight into the complexity of political beliefs.

Idk why you'd think it's rigged (besides its originating from a libertarian), I had no problem scoring as a statist... when using the answer's I'd expect from my anti-gun liberal friend. :biggrinjester:

With my actual answers it placed me just to the right of center half-way into libertarianism.
