I know, it's probably been discussed before, but..

First gun was a rifle, a Savage 22 mag bolt action. Was eleven and dad bought me that one for my first deer hunt. That one still sits in my safe. Second gun was a S&W Model 19, blue, 4" barrel. I bought that seven years later, wish I still had that one. Actually I wish I had all the guns I've bought and then sold over the years! The Savage is now over 40 years old and looks as nice today as it did back then. I think I may need to pull it out of the safe and take it to the range.

My first BB gun was a J.C. Higgins [Sears] lever action rifle. My first real gun, bought for me by my dad, was a .22LR bolt-action Mossberg Model 144 target rifle. After many years of use, it is resting comfortably in my safe. My first purchase of a gun was a .357 Mag Colt Python, which is sitting in the safe next to my Mossberg.

I just did an internet search and found a used Mossberg M144 selling for $850!!!! I don't think my dad paid more than $50 for it.
