Smith & Wesson M-25-2 round butt, old S&W glossy blue, 1979 manufacture. I believe this was originally a 6" gun as I don't see any evidence that they were delivered with short barrels. I have read that Jovino and perhaps others did custom re-barreling but I don't know if this is a Jovino or not. My SCSW also says that Lew Horton did some round butt 3"ers in that time frame, but once again I have no documentation or evidence that this is one of those guns.
However, it was a professionally done job. The barrel is about 3 1/2", and the overall condition is very good--I'd call it 90%. It is a great shooter. It does not have the original wood grips; it had an ugly but small set of Pachmayrs on it when I bought it about two years ago. It is currently wearing a Hogue Monogrip, but I will include both if you want. I also have about 8-10 full moon clips and a de-mooning tool that I will throw in. Only thing wrong with it is that the orange front sight insert was missing when I bought it. I have replaced it with a small piece of orange plastic.
This is a pre-lock N-frame in .45 acp--far more rare and much prettier than a 625.
Okay, the last part is an opinion. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. :)
I am thinning the herd and I want this N-frame to have a good home and stay in TX, so I am offering it here first. If no interest, I will post it on other sites in a week or so, but I think one of you will know a deal when he sees it. :)
More pics available--just email me. Thank you.
