Academy pistols on sale April 18-24, 2010: 3 Taurus models.

The above link shows the pistols on sale at Academy from April 18 to April 24, 2010.
It seems like Academy has not been putting many pistols on sale in the last several weeks,
but this Sunday's ad did have these 3.

The Taurus 809 has a 17 + 1 capacity in 9MM, but for $459.99, you are starting to get
into Glock or XD territory, 2 brands that may appeal more to some buyers.

But the Taurus Millenium Pro at $329.99 is a more solid value. About the
only cheaper semi-auto pistol you can buy is a Sigma, but then you'd have to buy
a comealong too, with which to pull the Sigma's trigger.

Academy usually sells Mill Pro's for this price, but they put it in the paper this week.
You can get the sale guns in 9MM or .40, and pocket carry them with a pocket holster,
such as an Uncle Mike's size 4, or probably a DeSantis Nemesis.

The ad is somewhat less than clear on round capacity, though, since it states that
the Mill Pro's on sale are 12 + 1 capacity.
That is correct if you are buying a PT111, which is the 9MM version.

But if you buy the PT140, the Mill Pro .40 variant, your capacity will be 10 + 1.

Since they didn't list .45 as a sale price Mill Pro, it appears that the PT145 may not
sell for the same price as the 9MM and .40 flavors. YMMV.
