I used to carry my 1911s. However, I found that if I didn't remove the grips and wipe the frame down EVERY DAY, I would get rust. Eventually, I got tired and gave up carrying my 1911s IWB.

On another occasion, I wore my SP101 and perspired on it. I wiped it down good, but enough perspiration got inside that the next time I needed it, the crane latch was frozen solid.

Now, I carry a S&W 642 in a pocket holder and don't worry about it.

Oh, I guess I could be classified as a cleaner after a range'r type person...No matter what I shoot at the range, it's going to get cleaned...carry gun or not...

If I don't make it to a range (once a month), then I try to keep the lint and other sorts of combustables free from the workings of that carry gun as much as possible...

Once, maybe twice a year. Between 200-500 rounds. Same reason as Crossfire.

BTW, I do clean my phone every couple of weeks.
