I just some guy contact me from my listing on texasguntrader offering to sell me his 642 for $600.

When I replied and asked if his had the CT grips or holsters or some big accessories package because they are at available new for about $450 at the gun show. He wrote back and said that $600 was blue book on the gun and that I should just buy it somewhere else and not from him!

blue book? :???:

go buy it somewhere else! "rlol"

Wow, nice! :thumbs2:

If my WTB posts don't pan out, I may have to take a little trip up north!

I saw a used 642-1 a few weeks ago at Fountain Firearms for $389 or $399....it looked in great shape. I purchased mine for $449 out the door at Nagel's in San Antonio..I think the price was fair for the used version. If you can't find a 642 anywhere else, you may want to check Fountain.

If you decide to, call them first. They only had 1 in stock when I bought mine.
He told me they sell quickly. Must be a popular model.

I would think most folks tend to hang on to the ones they have. I know I will. ;-)

I think you're right. I remember reading one thread where many of the posters had some combination of .45/9mm semi-auto and J frame, with the 642 being the most popular model. They all LOVED their snubbie, especially in pocket carry mode for quick trips to the store. I must credit (or blame :biggrinjester: ) one of our own, fm2, for letting me shoot his during a training session which got me to thinking, "you know, I could really use one of those......."

Here is better!

We should start a thread about selling our gear on guntrader. Mine would go something like this:

LNIB Glock 26 with stock magazine, two +2 magazines, tupperware and lock. $900 :biggrinjester:

Well let's see...a $900 Glock for a $600 S&W 642. I think USA1 needs to pony up some cash and judging by the way you two are pricing things, I'd say about $500 ought to be fair. Don't forget my commission. :tiphat:
